I am a great grandaughter of William Patton Thomason who served with Boeuf River Rebels, Co. B, 27th La. Inf. at the Siege of Vicksburg. Also, his two brothers, John Houston Thomason and James Joshua Thomason served there. James Joshua and John Houston Thomason were sharing a blanket abt. May 30th, 1963, when John Houston was killed while sleeping there beside his brother. Other Thomason cousins also served in Co. B. These men lived in present-day Richland Parish -- then part of Franklin Parish.
