Hugh, Matt's exact birth and death dates are October 11, 1842 to September 26, 1915.

I have not thought about him attending the Confederate veterans meetings in our area. I have just got started searching for this stuff so I really don't know where to begin. If I could find some old pictures of some of their gatherings I could compare the old pictures I have and see if any of them are the same person. Has anyone published any books on the confederate veterans meetings in north Louisiana? Since he lived to 1915 I am willing to bet he attended some of them.
