I got the information on James Martin McDonald's civil war record from his obit that was in the Shreveport paper where he is buried. He was my great grandfather. The obit states that he fought with Gen Beauregard at Shiloh, also fought at Vicksburg and Mansfield. Is it possible that he was at Shiloh and Vicksburg during the time you do not show him. In the obit it stated that he fought in some of the worst fighting in the war and that he was "with" S R Fields when he was shot. Do you have anything on Fields? I have him in the Civil War, from the time he got married to the time he died in 1917 but nothing prior the the war. If you want any of this information please let me know. Thanks G Davis
