I live in West Monroe and have been trying to locate the site of the camp at Trenton. It was a very large camp and was used through-out the war for training of new recruits, especially Texas units. There are no markers or maps that I have been able to find. Obviously there would have been nearby burial sites as disease was a common problem. I would appreciate knowing the location of the site that your father showed you, and would be glad to meet you there.

If there is some evidence, maybe the University of Louisiana at Monroe Archeology or History Depts would be interested in verifying the location.
