Are you interested in Co F or 8th Louisiana as a whole?

If you look at other units, primarily from the north, there are a lot of books and articles written by their members. I think it depended on the education and ability of the person to write a comprehensive narrative. IF I remember correctly, there are 6-8 articles written about some of the companies within the Regiment.

If you are interested in the 8th Louisiana there is not a book or set of works that has been prepared specifically about them. It is my understanding that a couple of posters to this forum are in the process of preparing a book, but not sure of its current status. If you read the book 'Lee's Tigers' by Terry Jones and a book on the 6th Louisiana (sorry, forgot title and author) you can get a general idea of the actions the 8th was in and general life while in Virginia. During my slow days, I search the net and try and find books with information about the 8th.

If interested in Co F, what are you looking for? I have been able to pick some general information on the soldiers in the unit (Booth's info, Census info, etc).
