Miss Eula,

I wanted to provide you with a little more Grevenburg information I ran across in a book titled " A Louisiana Confederate: Diary of Felix Pierre Poche" Edited by Edwin Bearss. I hope this helps add to your family history.

From the notes on page 249 it says

"Albania, the Grevenburg plantation, was located on the Teche about two miles southeast of Jeanerette."

"Wednesday July 22nd [1863]. We left Fuselier's this morning at 4 1/2 and traveled as far as Mrs. Carlos Grevenberg's where we took breakfast in companty with Genl Tom Green and his staff.
We were most cordially and splendidly entertained by Mrs. Carlos Grevenberg, who is one of the noblest hearted ladies of the Land. She is a young and handsome widow whose husband died in the service of his country. Long life and happiness to our kind host Mrs. C. Grevenberg.

"Tuesday Septenmber 8 {1863}. ...I however, kept on down and drove as far as my good lady friend Widow Carlos Grevenberg, where I stopped and was most cordially received and entertained. I took dinner there in company with the kind lady and her brothers & Lieut. Jacob of the 18th. In the evening I had my horse saddled and rode to where the troops were bivouaced, spent a few minutes with Lieut. Jackson & Capt. Patin, then returned to the house where I spent the evening and the night."

"Wednesday Sept. 9 {1863). This morning on my way back to Vermillion[ville], I left Mrs. Grevenberg's at 6 o'c. A.M. in company with Ernest Dejean who rode in my buggy, and reached New Town about 7."
