Thank you for the information. It has been so long since I saw the letters, that I did not recall how many were by a member of the 31st or what time period they covered.

The only thing I can think of with regard to a letter dated Tangipahoa Parish is that the writer mistakenly thought the town of Tangipahoa had given its name to the parish. I have seen a number of letters written at Camp Moore that simply say Tangipahoa, meaning the town.
