Elaine Thompson, Associate Professor at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, will speak on "The Viability of Small Town Slavery: Clinton, Louisiana, 1850 - 1860" to the Civil War Round Table of Central Louisiana. The meeting will be held at the Kent House which is located at 3601 Bayou Rapides Road in Alexandria. They have a new large conference building which will house the meeting. First time attendees are free. A catered meal is optional at a cost of $8.95. A book raffle is also held each meeting.
