I am trying to find descriptions of how the 27th Louisiana looked when sent to Vicksburg. Photos, letters, newspapers, etc. Were they sent to Vicksburg in their own individual company attire and had to make due for themselves, or were they supplied the classic blue-grey uniforms with the black trim that all early war regiments seemed to have been issued? Any information on weapons? And yes, I have Mr. Scriber's book on the 27th.
