Confederate School Of Practice

Im trying to find info on a Confederate soldier who was captured switched sides and became officer in 9th Connecticut Irish Infantry .John Bolger was a Sergeant with C company Confederate School of Practice then attached to Co K 21st Louisiana Infantry and then sent down to defend Ft St Philip serving the guns of the CSS Louisiana. He was in the only Confederate regular infantry unit not state volunteer. He was captured took the oath and enlisted in the 9th Connecticut with many others of his unit. He rose to officer. The 9th picked up about 100 recruits after the fall of New Orleans. Does anyone have any info on these men particulary John Bolger who was corporal. I am at work on a new regimental on the 9th. Thanks Joe
