Thank you so much for pointing me in this direction. Albert is another family used name. My grandfather, which would have been Aaron's grandson, was named Albert. I have often thought Aaron must have had another name he used, but I had not thought of Albert. My Aaron was from the area known as Upper Sabine, La., now Beauregard parish. I have also looked at Texas regiments since he lived very near the Texas line and had relatives living in Texas. The only other Aaron Goins I have found was serving in a Tennessee regiment.
