I am looking for any information on Aaron Goins born between 1825-1830 in Louisiana. I have been told by older relatives that he was killed in the Civil War in the state of Georgia serving for the Confederate States of America. I have not been able to find any records for him. He had a nephew named Aaron Goins who served but lived on into the 1900's. All records I have found pertains to this Aaron. I feel my Aaron possibly had another name that he used for legal reasons and to separate himself from his nephew. I have found his nephew James Goins that served in the La. 19th Inf. Co. K killed in action and buried at Forsyth, Monroe, Ga. He had another nephew in that company named Oliver P. Perkins who became a prisoner of war sent to Rock Island, Ill. Any research pointers appreciated.
