As one of "Lee's Tigers," this man served throughout the war, taking the oath of allegiance at Norfolk VA after the war ended. James Grey suffered at least two wounds, spending much of the war in Confederate hospitals and Federal prisons as a result. His lengthy service file includes a physical description -- age 35, resident of Franklin Parish &c. He was a fighting veteran one could certainly be proud of.
