Kim, actually, the source of data that I obtained the information from was the journal of one of the officers of the SHENANDOAH, a copy of which I have in my possession, and which is unpublished. The original is held at the Museum of the Confederacy, from which I have obtained a number of copies of documents and journals, etc. They did give me permission to publish, online, a couple of these, but I have only been able to transcribe and place only one online, as the second, namely the journal, will involve a major amount of research work, as it would need notes and other information relevant to the entries, so I doubt if I will have this up in the near future, though I am still concentrating, at times, on the work involved in this.
It does seem amazing, though, that George P. Canning was quite heavily involved in Australia, through family ties. Pity he did not live to return here.
