That would be the man. He was mentioned in a newspaper article (The [Marksville] Pelican, March 21, 1863 - the article is in French) as being with a small local unit, the Volunteers of Mansura (probably militia), at Fort DeRussy with his brother Simon. But a little over a year later he is serving with the Louisiana Scouts Bn., a Union unit, and is Nathaniel Banks chief scout on his retreat from Alexandria to Simmesport. He testified in detail about his activities during that event in Isidore Poret vs US, French American Claims Commission.

But you've piqued my curiosity. What other CS units do you have him in?
