This A.J. Johnson is my g(3) grandfather, h/o Rebecca. He's known to the family as Jack Johnson. He married my g(3) grandfather, Jonathon Isaacs sister Rebecca, who enlisted with Jack into Co E 13th Ky Calvary at Whitesburg. We have pictures of the children, grandchildren but not of Jonathon to my knowledge. Hazard Community College teacher David Chalice set the markers for both men. His research showed the men went to Abingdon & joined what was the 10th Va mounted Infantry, who fought under John Hunt Morgan. That's what our oral family history told as well. It was passed down they were a pair of hand selected sharp shooters. They told they climbed trees & shot approaching Union troops & that Jack went with Jonathan to fight off anyone who may have came upon them during a skirmish while Jonathon set up to kill the lead Officers. These men were Brother-in-laws, fought the whole war together & surrendered together in Louisa, Ky. Plz contact me on FB under my name, I'd love to have someone help my mother & I piece together this puzzle.
