If you can find on microfilm close to you or by Inter-Library Loan the microfilm of the pro-CS newspaper in Louisville, the Courier, you can probably find information therein from the two KY CS battalions sent to Virginia in April/May1861. The paper remained in Louisville until October 1861 when they were kicked out moving to Bowling Green, KY and continuing publication there.

The other Louisville paper, the Journal, was pro-Union but may also have run some things for these units as well.

The Frankfort and Lexington papers might also be of help.
