My 4x great Uncle William A. Kidd was born in Whitley, Kentucky. The 1860 Census lists him as living in Wayne County. He is to have died in Whitley in 1871, however the location of his grave is unknown.

I'm intrested in knowing if he fought in the War. There were two Union soldiers, (or the same), by the name of William Kidd: one in Co. D. 30 KY INF.; another in Co. C 39 KY INF. Both were privates. There was one Condeerate soldier, William Kidd, 12 KY CAV.
