Henry's Company , 5th Regiment Kentucky Infantry,* enlisted September 1, 1862 at West Liberty, Ky. for 3 years, recorded November 18, 1862 as absent, sick at home, Morgan County having been left in Kentucky sick, October, arrested December 10, 1862, shipped from Lexington, Ky. to Louisville, Ky. December 18, noted on the Jan/Feb, 1863 muster roll as "I have understood he was captured by the enemy and sent to Louisville, Ky, and was then released by him taking the Oath of Allegiance to the United States," no other records

* This company subsequently became (3rd) Company C, 5th Regiment Kentucky Infantry (Mounted)

Elliott's Company, Kentucky Infantry,** enlisted October 19, 1861 at Prestonsburg for one year, captured (deserter) February 17, 1864 at Louisa, Ky., sent from Louisville, Ky. to Camp Chase, Ohio prison camp March 24, released March 10, 1865 on taking Oath of Allegiance to Gov. U. S. & remain in the Loyal State during the war

** This company subsequently became (1st) Company D, 5th Regiment Kentucky Infantry (Mounted)
