my gr gr grandfather landon c. brown volunteered to join at age 36. joined in 1861 to 1865. served in the hospital as private when he joined. then moved up to sergeant when mustered out in texas. worked as on duty ward master 1862. in nov. 1862 absent without leave. march 1863 on duty as company cook. sept. 1863 on duty as hospital nurse. april 1864 on duty hospital orderly. aug. 1864 on duty sergent for captain mavity. question? is their any pictures of company k. in book or somewhere. would like to know why my gr gr grandfather was stuck in hospital. he was older and was educated. could this be it. also was this like a mash unit. traveling on the back of a hourse or wagon. found his gravesite. someone in the past had put a brass plate over his sight. also he had a nice grave stone in small cemetery in lewis county kentucky. if anyone could find a picture of him or info i would appreciate it. thanks for reading. stevebrown41017@yahoo.com.
