It appears another of their buddies was W. H. Hiett, he was also a witness at my g-g-grandfathers pension application proceedings. W.H. Hiett states (about Richard J. Jones): "I was with him in 1862 and was with him most of the time till close of war and was with him as Jefferson Davis' bodyguard when we surrendereed at Appomatox in May 1865"
