Knowing that some who post on this site are also working with Civil War-era cemeteries, I wanted to let you know that the Kentucky Historical Society is hosting a cemetery preservation workshop on Saturday, June 26. The workshop will begin at 10:00 a.m., and will be held at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History, in downtown Frankfort. The workshop will feature experts on cemetery preservation, research and mapping techniques and will include a hands-on look at tombstone repair. Cost for the workshop is $15 for KHS members and $20 for all other patrons. Registration and pre-payment are required by June 21.
