My ancestor, Pvt. James P. Vance, 3rd Kentucky Mounted Infantry, was wounded at the Battle Of Shiloh on Sunday, April 6. He was captured and died two weeks later at a Union hospital in Paducah, KY. He is buried at Haynes Cemetery in Calloway County, KY.
