Samuel Martin, 108th USCT
Searching for letters, journals, and other personal documents referencing the life and military service of Samuel Martin, who served as a sergeant in Company F of the 108th U.S. Colored Infantry. He enlisted in the regiment at Owensboro, Kentucky, in June 1864. After the Civil War he married, started a family, and worked as a waggoner. His wife, Margaret, filed for a widow's pension from the government in 1887. Any and all help appreciated.
