Frank Stringfellow-Rebel Scout

Sometime in 1880, according to author R.Shepherd Brown, former Rebel scout Frank Stringfellow appeared in Lexington and gave a talk about a recon around Fredericksburg, Va. that he and Redmond Burke took in mid-late May 1862. Jeb Stuart had ordered the men to keep an eye on a Federal army there commanded by Gen. McDowell. Shepherd said that a Louisville reporter wrote an article about the talk. I know this is a long shot, but has anyone else ever seen this article or heard about it?
