Re: Clay's or Jenkins Batteries
In Response To: Clay's or Jenkins Batteries ()

Looking into Giltner's Calvary I found a link, http://ehistory.osu.edu/uscw/library/or/091/0869.cfm , that led me to looking for 1st KY Mounted Rifles - I was looking at 1st Battalion Kentucky Calvary and not having much luck - where I found Clay listed as E. F. Clay. I then found another link, www.researchonline.net/kycw/unit3.htm where they say the 1st KY Mounted Rifles was organized in the winter of 1861-62. They list Clay as Lieutenant Ezekiel F. Clay.

I found further information at www.researchonline.net/kycw/unit20.htm listing the 3rd Battalion Kentucky Mounted Rifles as also known as the 1st and 10th Battalion Kentucky Mounted Rifles. This battalion was organized in the late summer of 62, after they were at Middle Creek - January of 62, which I am researching. Here they list him as Lieutenant Colonel E. F. Clay.

This is the guy I was looking for and I'm pretty sure, the guy you were looking for, too. I also found Captaiin John B. Holiday of Co. D and Major Orville G. Camron both of the 1st KY Mounted Rifles. I still haven't found any more on Stone, though. But, I'm glad I found your post.

Any more info that I don't have??
