Barbara,
I've been having a problem posting, so I hope this one goes through.

I don't know where A.S. is buried, but I believe I've read that it was in a military cemetery somewhere. Maybe Nashville, TN?? There is a big cemetery there.

The Grace Ep. Church at Paducah still has services. It's located on Broadway St. I believe that the building they use now was the same one referred to in the newspaper article. It's a beautiful church.

The Byers and Buford surnames are common in Paducah still, but I don't know if the present people are those related to A.S.'s sisters.

You might try contacting the McCracken County Library (formerly Paducah Library). They have a website. You can e-mail Vonnie Shelton from that site. She's in charge of Special Collections, and is very good about helping people.

Hope this helps,
Ann
