I wondered about a connection between the two. General Rosser was a classmate (and, I believe, room mate)
of G.A. Custer, at West Point. There is a famous photo of the two sitting together after Rosser's
capture, circa 1862. They kept a lively correspondence during the war. After the war, Rosser was a railroad
survey engineer for the Northern Pacific (?) and reunited with GAC. Both the Rosser brothers appear to
have been highly regarded.
