No I am sorry but I don't know the exact location. From researching the best I can gather is that is was about a 1-1 1/2 miles east of Cochran's Store which would put it closer to Frisco and I know that the school was said to be located at the Northeast corner of the Frisco Cemetery or there about. I also know that Gov. Colbert lived near the school but after it was burned Feb. 13, 1864 he didn't rebuild there. I haven't ever heard that Gov. Colbert had a mill located there. Cochran had a mill located down from his store. Gov. Colbert after the war didn't settle and build back at Frisco but settled and built at Oil Spring close to Mill Creek. I think he did have a mill there. Gov. Colbert did live with a son (Humphrey) in later years and was buried close to Frisco in a private Cemetery. The Chickasaw school was said to be partially burned and was rebuilt.
I am researching all of this for a story to be put in our Chickasaw Journal of History and Culture. You can email me if you would like at
