Mr. Justice,
Stop using the word "exactly"! ;-)

You are obviously referring to Phillips report on his return to Ft Gibson during his Feb. 1864 expedition into the Creek, Seminole, and Chickasaw Nations. The report is addressed from "Little Rivertown, near Old Fort Arbuckle, Creek Nation". I have wrestled with this one and my best guess is that it is an error of the writer (i.e. Phillips or is adjutant) or a mis-transcription.

Little Rivertown (or Little River Town) was at the mouth of Little River on the Canadian south of present Holdenville OK. This is the location of Edward's Trading Post (father-in-law of Jesse Chisholm) which was later sold to one Ards, as shown on post-war maps. Across Little River was the site of "Old Fort Holmes". The Dragoon Trail (Leavenworth's Road of 1834), a north-south road to Ft Washita, crossed the Canadian at this point. The east-west road was one of the routes to California from Ft Smith following the south bank of the Arkansas and then the Canadian and crossing the Canadian to the north side at Edwards, the last place to get supplies for the journey west. This is in the Creek Nation. The south side of the Canadian at this point is the northwest corner of the Choctaw Nation. I believe the Battle of Middle Boggy was in northeastern Pontotoc County, southwest of present Allen OK on Muddy Boggy Creek.

"Old" Fort Arbuckle was on the south side of the Canadian, across from present Konawa, OK. This site was quickly abandoned and Ft Arbuckle was established west of present Davis. Both sites are in the Chickasaw Nation and not close to the Creek Nation or Little River.

Therefore, I believe Phillips' report was written at the mouth of Little River in the Creek Nation from Edwards/Old Fort Holmes and "Old Fort Arbuckle" is an error.

Hillabee (variously spelled and mistranscribed as Willoby in one report) was in the Creek Nation on the north side of the Canadian between Edwards and North Fork Town, about 20 miles upstream from the latter, in the general vicinity of present Hanna OK.
