* The 1st Regiment Cherokee Mounted Volunteers (also known as Watie's Regiment; as the 2nd Regiment Cherokee Mounted Rifles, Arkansas, and as the 1st Regiment Cherokee Mounted Rifles or Rifleman) was organized July 12, 1861, for twelve months, and reorganized July 12, 1862, for two years.
