Great sites. Thanks very much for the links. It's interesting to notice that a few such photos are always shown reversed. I think I read somewhere that the backside of glass negatives sometimes had less scratches or damage and the images from that side were more clear. Reversed details can be misleading though. That well known image of a left-handed Billy the Kid (recently sold for a gazillion dollars) is an example. The loading port of his Winchester is shown on the left side of the receiver, his gunbelt has the buckle on the right hand side, and the buttons and buttonholes of his clothing are reversed too (right side over left). Look at it in a mirror and everything appears in correct orientation, as right-handed as one can get.
