Sometimes the message board software has trouble recognizing what is intended to be a link. In particular, it has trouble recognizing that it is a URL (i.e. web address) or with where the URL of the link ends and plain text begins. The solution is to type in the html code that defines a link. Softwares add this code in the background, transparent to us users, but if the software doesn't understand it adds the code wrong, of course. The software of these message boards is not intended to do all the sophisticated things a software like Microsoft Word can do, of course, and the use of html codes is very limited -- you can define a link, you can make text bold or italic.
