Alan Thompson at Prairie Grove Battlefield shared this link. It starts
with the journal of Falconer of Clarkson's Battalion. Note that on
the march south, they camp at "Lynch's" Prairie (not Finches or
Tinches) which is about 7 miles from Wolf Creek. Lynch's Mill was
where the town of Spavinaw now stands.

Elithorpe picked up the journal at Locust Grove and made it his
own. While it gives a rare view of the IHG, Elithorpe at length
complains of corruption and Kansas politics and his determination
to be promoted to colonel or resign.
