Re: W.L.Cochran Cavalry co.
I wanted to added he was William L Cochran was the nephew of(his Uncle) Robert L Cochran who trading post was located at this same location being called Pontotic.(now Frisco) W.L is buried in a family cem.Frisco- as is his mother and father (A.O. Cochran B.oct 3,1805-D.April 19,1877) (Francis 1808-1893)
They came from Marshal Co Ms after 1870 Census.being on it.
There is a Jesse Cochran in the 1840's of the Cherokee's who could be related and may of had son's in the civil war as Robert L was the last of 12 childern and they had lived in Tenn./Ga area near the Cherokee's but I have found not a connection to any Cherokee-half brother/ Uncle/ect yet?
I'm trying to see if he did this(Raise a company) to help his Uncle Robert protect his trading Post and the Chickasaw Gov.Winchester Colbert interest?
thanks
