Greg,
It has been quite a while since I did a small amount of study on the flags. The only surviving "5 red star" flag I am familiar with is the 'Cherokee Braves" flag at the Sweeny Museum. Do you know where others are located?

If my memory serves me, the Texas troops may have carried 4 or 5 red star 1st national flags.

I have never been sure what flag Pike gave Drew at Tahlequah. I have assumed it to be a 5 red star 1st national flag. Slover's account was the first I remember of a blue crescent moon and red star flag on a white field and then the white with red star flag he describes the Pins carrying. There is also a Cherokee flag with a white field and the big dipper constellation in red stars but I nothing of its origin or time period.
