Re: Line Road

Jerry,
In your post you stated:

"After the war, McKinney's Station replaced A.W. Geary's Station and tollbridge on the Muddy Boggy River and was located between present Stringtown and Atoka,OK."

Don't you mean on "Little Boggy"? Geary's was on Little Boggy about two miles south of Stringtown. "Muddy Boggy" is on the northern edge of Atoka.

Can you point me to your sources for some of the details? In particular, that Jumper was camped at Boggy Depot, Nail was at Middle Boggy, and Watie was a Ft McCulloch.

You stated that Muddy Boggy was as far as south as Phillips penetrated by Phillips says he continued 20 miles further south which would suggest he passed through Boggy Depot.

You stated the Confederate dead were buried at Stringtown. This would be at least 6 miles north of Muddy Boggy and cemetery by the Confederate Museum. Are you referring to this cemetery by the museum or is there another cemetery near Stringtown?

Sorry, lots of questions in one post. I am trying to reconcile the ORs with the 'Atoka' location for the Middle Boggy engagement but, as of yet, have not found primary sources that support the Texas Road story.
