George - that would be fabulous - thank you. His name was Alexander Augustus Goodwyne - he did like to switch it up though and go by A.A. or Gus, but it seems most of his Civil War records were Alexander Goodwyne. He served in Company B, 45th Georgia Infantry from March 23, 1863 til ?. Last record I have of him is from CSA General Hospital Charlottesville saying he was furloughed for 60 days starting July 23, 1864. I also have a record showing him in the General Hospital Camp Winder, Richmond, VA - this time using the name A.A. Goodwin! At the bottom of the service record from CSA Charlottesville it references the following: "Confed. Arch., Chap. 6, File No. 215, page 314". Don't know if that means anything.
