Formerly a member of Co. "I", 13th Alabama Regiment, James F. Garrison, lived in Alabama, Etowah and Marshall Counties after the war. Born in Georgia about 1840, he enlisted at Roanoke AL Oct. 17, 1862, and surrendered with his regiment at Appomattox VA. Garrison applied for a pension as a resident of Marshall County AL.
If this veteran is your ancestor, he has a commendable war record. Copies of his service file and his Alabama pension application are available here.
