Help

According to my family records, my GGGrandfather, Francis Marion Wise was born in 1814, In 1845 his first son, Rody, was born. According to Lillian Hendersons Rosters of Georgia Confederate Soldiers Francis M. Wise joined Company A, 30th Ga. Volunteer Inf.in Sept. 1861 and surrendered with Gen. Johnston on April 26, 1865. Now the only problem with all this is, according to family records Francis M. died in August of 1863. My question is, could it have been that Rody was not old enough to join so he joined under his dads name???? Another problem is I do not have any records of his marriage, so I do not have his wifes name, would it still be possible to get pension information without the wifes name, or should I submit Francis M. wife's name and see what comes up??? As usual any and all information will be greatly appreciated. thanks, tom
