Ms. Prevatt,

I hope you (and Gerald) don't mind me jumping in with this additional information on the Gasses of Company F of the 34th Georgia Infantry. These men are listed as both Goss and Gass on the National Archives rolls. Gerald, I wonder if this means we should look at Goss, as well as, Gass on the CWSS?

In Chattanooga, Tenn. hospital Dec. 31, 1862. Captured at Sand Mountain, Ga. Mar. 18, 1864. Paroled at Camp Chase, 0. and transferred to City Point, Va. for exchange Feb. 25, 1865.

Goss, Frederick Private May 17, 1862
Pension records show he was wounded in eye, resulting in loss of sight, at Marietta, Ga. June 1864.

Goss, James M.
Enlisted as a private in Co. E, 8th Regt. Ga. State Troops Nov. 7, 1861. Discharged Feb. 9, 1862. Enlisted as a private in Co. F, 34th Regt. Ga. Inf. May 17, 1862. Captured at Sand Mountain, Ga. Mar. 18, 1864. Died of typhoid fever at Camp Chase, 0. Aug. 28, 1864. Grave #224, Camp Chase Confederate Cemetery.

Goss, John Private May 17, 1862
Captured at Baker's Creek, Miss. May 16, 1863. Paroled at Fort Delaware, Del. July 3, 1863. Received at City Point, Va. July 6, 1863. An exchanged prisoner at Richmond, Va. July 23, 1863. No later record.

Goss, Josiah Private May 17, 1862
Captured at Vicksburg, Miss. July 4, 1863, and paroled there July 8, 1863. Captured at Dalton, Ga. May 13, 1864. Released at Camp Morton, Ind. May 20, 1865.
