I checked the Compiled Military Service Records (CMSR) of the 39th Georgia Volunteer Infantry Regiment this evening and found no GASS soldiers that served in the 39th Georgia. I also checked the Georgia Indigent Confederate Soldier's and Widow's Pensions and found none that had filed under the 39th Georgia.

However, below is the information that I did find for you.

The following GASS soldiers served in the 34th Georgia Volunteer Infantry Regiment. The 34th Georgia was a sister regiment of the 39th Georgia and was also in Cumming's Brigade, Stevenson's Division, Army of Tennessee. Company F, 34th Georgia was from Dade County, Georgia:

Josiah Gass. Served in Company F, 34th Georgia. He filed for a Georgia Indigent Confederate Soldier's Pension. His widow, Sarah C. Gass filed for a Georgia Indigent Widow's Pension. Both filed in Dade County.

John Gass. Served in Company F, 34th Georgia. He filed for a Georgia Indigent Confederate Soldier's Pension. It appears he also served in Company G, 3rd Confederate Cavalry. His widow, Nancy Gass filed for a Georgia Indigent Widow's Pension. Both filed in Dade County.

Fredrick Gass. Served in Company F, 34th Georgia.

James Gass. Served in Company F, 34th Georgia.

Andrew Gass. Served in Company F, 34th Georgia. An A.J. Gass filed for a Tennessee Indigent Confederate Soldier's Pension in Franklin County, Tennessee (Pension #S9307). Pension index states he served in the 34th Georgia.

Nathaniel Gass. Served in Company A, 3rd Confederate Cavalry. He filed for a Georgia Indigent Confederate Soldier's Pension in Dade County. His widow, Malissa Gass, filed for a Georgia Indigent Confederate Widow's Pension in Dade County.
