I've been researching the 9th GA Cavalry Regiment (better known as Cobb's Legion Cavalry Battalion) off and on for about ten years now. A sketch of the Legion cavalry, written in 1901 by Wiley C. Howard (veteran of company C), is on-line and can be viewed at http://docsouth.unc.edu/fpn/howard/howard.html. An address given to the citizens of Athens, GA (home of companies C and H of the Legion cavalry) on 26 Apr 1893 by Edgeworth Eve (veteran of company K from Augusta, GA) can be viewed at http://www.rootsweb.com/~gaclarke/Military/wbts/capteveaddress.htm. A fairly detailed roster of company H can be viewed at the Clarke-Oconee Genealogical Society Web site at http://www.rootsweb.com/~gacogs/onlineresources/companyH.htm. Glen Spurlock's excellent Cobb's Legion Web site can be viewed at http://colquitt.k12.ga.us/gspurloc/cobbslegion/.
