Robin,

To add to the confusion, there was a William A. Tucker in Co. D, 10th Georgia Infantry, that died in Richmond July 2,1864, of diarrhea.

There was a William M. Tucker in Co. A, 10th Georgia Battalion Infantry that enlisted in Macon, and died in Richmond, also on July 2, 1864. This man had health issues w/rheumatism.

Note that the two referenced units were different commands. I have a suspicion when the Compiled Service Records were assembled in the early
1900s that the archivist confused the death dates for two different soldiers with the same name and nearly identical units.

Best Regards,

Greg
