Trying to help a friend find military information on his Confederate ancestor, Cpl Drewry Womble. He apparently joined the 5th Ga Inf Regt, and was later transferred to the 2nd Bn, Ga Sharpshooters, where his unit surrendered at Greensboro, NC in April 1865. I believe he was from Thomaston, Ga.

Any information that may help my friend track his ancestor's military experience would be appreciated.
