Joseph Hamon, Private, Company G, 1st Georgia Cavalry, enlisted October 3, 1862 at Clinton, Tenn. by Capt. J. L. Kerr for 3 years or the war, recorded on the Jan/Feb, 1863 muster roll as absent, sick, Clinton Hospital, transferred to Chimborazo Hospital, Richmond, VA., April 14, 1863, received 30 day furlough December 23, 1863, receipted for an issue of clothing June, 1864, captured in battle near Atlanta, Ga., July 21, 1864, forwarded to Chattanooga, Tenn., thence to Louisville, Ky. arrived, July 30, transferred to Camp Chase, Ohio next day, arrived August 2, transferred to City Point, Va. for exchange March 5, 1865, arrived March 10-12, 1865, no further information
