Not a devotee but my ancestor was in the 40th Alabama and I lived near Cassville until a couple years ago. The ridge behind my house was where my ancestor was just after the battle of Cassville I like Scaife's book because of the overlay of modern roads with the battle locations especially helpful in Cobb county where you cannot read the roadside markers in Cobb because brass on black doesn't stand out enough to see from the car and very few have places to pull over. I'll pull the book out and start looking through it again tonight to see if it has your answers.
