the southwest corner of Jackson and Lamar, in the oldest surviving brick commercial
building in Americus, built by J.J. Granberry and T.M. Furlow in 1850

In 1847 the Americus Methodist Church started the town's first single denomination
Sunday School, Joseph J. Granberry, superintendent.
