Pretty Boy, born in Georgia

This appears to be the correct genealogy for the Floyd family of Gordon County, Georgia.

Company B of the 1st City Battalion Georgia Infantry (Columbus, Georgia)
His Compiled Military Service Records indicate his name was R. C. Floyd. I believe his full name may have been Redding Charles Floyd of Bartow County, Georgia. If so he was born in Georgia about 1828 and died in 1907 and may have saw his great grandson before his death in 1907.

Redding C. Floyd would have children and one of them was Charles M. Floyd born in the late 1850’s. Charles Murphy Floyd would have children and one of them was Walter Lee Floyd born about 1878 in Gordon County, Georgia. Walter Lee Floyd had children and one of them was Charles Arthur Floyd born about 1904 in Adairsville, Georgia also located in Gordon County, Georgia.

About 1911 the Walter Lee Floyd family moved to Oklahoma where they became tenant farmers. In 1929 Walter Lee Floyd was killed by a neighbor over a dispute. The neighbor although acquitted of the death of Walter Lee Floyd was later missing and has never been found. It was believed that his son Charles Arthur Floyd had something to do with the neighbors disappearance for Charles Arthur Floyd, had a famous nickname, Pretty Boy Floyd.
