Daniel M. Vaden, of Parks, Ga., claims to be the youngest Confederate soldier living. Said he: "I am now fifty-six years of age, having enlisted in the Confederate army when I was thirteen years old. I went through the entire war. Judge Emery Spear claims he entered the army when he was fourteen years of age, but I am confident that I am a little younger than he is. If there is any one in the United States who fought in the Southern army who claims to be younger than I am, I would like for him to speak out."
